Logan.
So the 8th and final time we see Hugh Jackman step into the boots of The Wolverine.
Directed and co-written by James Mangold. Behind the camera for Kate and Leopold, Walk the Line and The Wolverine to mention a few.
Immediately you see why this film is a 15 cert, there is more blood in this movie then in the other 7 wolverine outings combined.
No backstory given or needed so the action can start straight away (don’t go thinking you can miss the first 5 minutes of this because it’s gotta build up to something) sit down, shut up and immerse yourself.
Let me start with a little criticism, there was a relatively big plot point that wasn’t given enough screen time for me but hey it’s a small bit of bad in a big ball of awesome
The tone and pacing of this film is spot on imo the 137 minute run time flew by and I loved the western feel of it all.
This is the wolverine film fans have been crying out for, beautifully stylised, suitably grizzled and crazy violent. this is what should happen when a man with claws attacks people.
I could go on much more but it’s late and you should go see it yourselves.
Best Wolverine film?…….. By a country mile
Best X-men film?………………. yeah, for me I think it is.
A solid 8.5/10
Snikt, Snikt mother fuckers, Wolverine berserker attack all over this movie!
